Music allowed him to travel around the world and he settled successively in Brussels and Berlin before coming back to his hometown, Dunkirk.
He tried his hand to figurative painting before turning into abstraction. His musical universe is deeply rooted in his personality and greatly influences his approach to canvas. Colors are his ranges and the canvas his partition.
Working in series and constantly renewing himself, he lets his feelings guide him. The Carré Blanc series is the result and refers to the signage designed to alert viewers to programs that may contain violence or pornography in order to protect the youth from that kind of images.
In this series, flesh tones and black color reveal the violence of eroticism with the entanglement of bodies even if Demey wishes to leave the viewer free to interpret his work.
